Reader feedback

A thumbs up or down on every page, with an optional comment, saved to a Notion database or a local JSONL file.

  • Readers answer with a thumbs up or a thumbs down, and a thumbs down opens an optional comment box before the vote is sent.
  • Records go to a Notion database when the API key and database ID are set, and otherwise append to a dated JSONL file on disk.
  • The widget renders only once one of those two backends is configured, so an unconfigured site shows nothing at all.
  • Notion writes retry on rate limits and overload responses and honor the Retry-After header, so a flaky connection does not drop a comment.
  • Helper commands cover the Notion side: notion:verify checks the schema, notion:fix adds missing fields, and notion:create builds the database.
  • Feedback travels one way. Nothing a reader submits is rendered back onto the page, and there is no comment thread.
