Feature
MCP server
A built-in Model Context Protocol server, so AI tools can search your docs and fetch page source over one JSON-RPC endpoint.
- One stateless JSON-RPC endpoint ships with the site. Every request stands on its own, so there is no session or cookie to configure.
- Two tools. search_docs runs a free-text search across every page; fetch_page returns the raw MDX source for a single page path.
- Set it up in Claude Code, Claude Desktop, Cursor, Windsurf. Any other MCP-compatible client works too, because connection uses the standard initialize handshake.
- In public mode the endpoint answers without a token. In password-protected mode it stays off until you turn it on and set a token.
- Where a token is required, the check compares every character of the supplied value before returning, rather than stopping at the first mismatch.
- fetch_page checks the requested path against the published-page list first, then rejects any traversal segment, before it reads anything from disk.
Our documentation site is built with OwnDocs, running the same code you receive.
